Join us for an open and respectful discussion on one of today's most important issues: Abortion and the Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v Wade. Our Braver Angels discussion group is all about understanding different perspectives and finding common ground.
We'll talk about questions like:
What were your thoughts when you first heard the news about the Supreme Court's decision on abortion rights?
How can we tackle the challenges in states with strict abortion bans and those with more lenient policies?
How can we make the conversation around abortion easier to have?
Where can we find common ground on abortion policies?
Whether you have strong opinions or just want to hear from others, we welcome you to join us. Our goal is to create a safe space where everyone feels heard and respected, helping us all understand this complex issue better.
All discussion group events are facilitated by a Braver Angels member. At the outset of the discussion, the facilitator will go over some Braver Angels ground rules to help ensure a productive and respectful exchange of ideas.
Let's come together to build understanding, empathy, and unity within our community. Bring a friend! Everyone is welcome.
No RSVP is required, but if you're on Facebook, you can mark your attendance on the FB Event.
The Braver Angels Way
We state our views freely and fully, without fear.
We treat people who disagree with us with honesty, dignity and respect.
We welcome opportunities to engage those with whom we disagree.
We believe all of us have blind spots and everyone is worth talking to.
We seek to disagree accurately, avoiding exaggeration and stereotypes.
We look for common ground where it exists and, if possible, find ways to work together.
We believe that, in disagreements, both sides share and learn.
In Braver Angels, neither side is teaching the other or giving feedback on how to think or say things differently.
