Debates - Braver Angels' debates use a special parliamentary format that encourages everyone to participate by seeking or asking questions. We tackle challenging topics that matter. Debate participants gain a deeper understanding of other points of view, a better sense of common ground, and a renewed confidence that we actually can talk about controversial topics respectfully. Workshops - There are many other workshops in the Braver Angels catalog: Beginner workshops for depolarizing, learning skills to bridge the divide, and skills for social media; Red/Blue workshops bring together a small, evenly divided group of conservatives and liberals, or “reds” and “blues,” for a series of exercises designed to help participants clarify disagreements, reduce stereotyped thinking, and discover common values; and specialized workshops such as the "Families and Politics" workshops show participants how to talk about politics with their loved ones in a way that brings them closer together — not farther apart.
